Our Story

Skiing has always been a passion of ours, but the process of gearing up was always a major pain point. The origin of the Mammoth Mat began on a typical ski day, when my buddy and I had the idea to lay down an old tarp that was in his truck to stand on while we put on our ski boots. The tarp accomplished the task of keeping our feet dry, but was slipping around as we moved and was soaked by the time we put it back in the car. Every chairlift conversation that day revolved around potential materials that would make a non-slip, waterproof ski mat. After months of research, we selected natural rubber as the primary material for our mats. Natural rubber is a sustainable material that has intrinsic waterproof and non-slip properties. To "top" it off, we combined the natural rubber bottom with 100% waterproof polyester. The Mammoth Mat was born!
